Urgent opening for a Technical Specialist to lead a team of Technical Leaders having 15+ years experience for a Fortune 100 Co.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

- Work closely with CB CoE program manager to Drive Product cost optimization in a target oriented manner through Should-Cost & cost analytics to ENSURE business IMPACT from should cost programs.

- Identification, Scoping, Co-ordination, Execution & Report-Out (with loop closure) of should cost programs to achieve the Should-Cost targets for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Legacy Company Products.

- Guide Should-Cost team on establishing manufacturing layout of parts/sub-assemblies. Review all deliverables from should cost team.

- Establish product cost estimates by analyzing design specifications, material and technology selection, and manufacturing characteristics. Consult with and advise product development engineers on economic alternatives for the manufacturing process and suggest trade-offs.

- Evolve and Manage the Should Cost database & establish the Cost Analytics practice.

- Evolve should costing process to ensure fast & reliable should costing.

- Capture learnings during should cost & maximize the deployment across multiple Company products

- Build should cost templates for standard mechanical, electrical and electronics components.

- Support partners in costing negotiation process for cost reduction and cost avoidance.

- Maximize use of aPriori and help in institutionalizing DFA & DFM practices.

- Establish a should cost model for competitor product

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

- Excellent knowledge on manufacturing process of mechanical components (Plastics, Sheet metal, Forging, Castings, Machined, Rubber) and assembly of electro-mechanical products. Knowledge of manufacturing of electronic components (especially CCAs) will be preferred.

- Commercial/ Business acumen to understand techno-commercial aspects of costing/competitive benchmarking, articulate impact & convince key stakeholders.

- Use of 3D costing tools like aPriori/DFMA

- Good knowledge of Product Design and cost out techniques (Value engineering, Cost engineering, Value addition, TRIZ) for mechanical parts/assemblies. Have good understanding on Global Economics Data & integrated supply chain.

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

- Initiative, Problem solving, Persuasive & positive thinking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

BE/BTech/ME/M.Tech - Mechanical Engineering or Production engineering

- 18 Years of professional experience dealing with mechanical and/or electro-mechanical products. Must have - 8 years of experience in manufacturing environment. 4-5 years core experience in product costing using modern tools (like aPriori, DFMA) and with use of global economics data. Exposure to electronic products is desirable.
