Technical Leader - Electromechanical

Mission :

- The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop Low Voltage LV switchgears switchboard to meet customer requirement & quality requirements through cost effective & time efficient methods in accordance with IEC standards.

- The technical lead is responsible for the multiple projects under the scope of sustenance and continuous engineering and product evolutions for a global offer or product (worldwide or regional).

- This role will lead assigned projects on a given product offer and lead the work with engineering, technical teams assigned on projects to that offer products. 

- The Role is part of technical team inside the Global business unit working closely with technical teams in geographies and with other cross functions of marketing, industrialization, quality, certification, labs and factories for realization of technical solutions and to deliver the technical roadmap.

Roles And Responsibilities :

- Develop designs to meet electrical distribution market needs defined by product technical specifications. Thorough on IEC61439, 61641, IEC60947 standards

- Hands on experience on working on Low Voltage, Medium Voltage LV MV products like MCC, PCC, Switchboard, Panel boards

- Design for Cost, Design for Manufacture Analysis (DFM/DFA) on individual parts, subassemblies with the ability to propose alternate materials and methods of assembly and manufacture.

- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to resolve design concept failures

- Interact with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, sourcing, finance, marketing and vendors to define requirements, validate designs, implement manufacturing readiness and support product launch

- Lead the evaluation of technological choices in Projects, aligned with cost, segmentation and lifecycle of the offer and anticipate technical risks and guarantee mitigations.

- Thorough knowledge of User, customer and Installation habits

- Assist the technical Manager, Senior Manager with scoping, identification of project deliverables, and creation of project-specific documentation such as functional specifications, technical specifications, etc.

- Provide technical consultancy to department staff and participate in development efforts including proposals, development plans, and presentations, as necessary with management.

- Effective Utilization of technical resources & technical budget to achieve R&D efficiency

- Provides support to managers through formal and informal interfaces, technical/ business reports and presentations.

- Ensure and facilitate detailing of Design Specification (Plastic, Sheet metal, Machined parts), GD &T, part robustness criteria, critical to quality in technical deliverables for manufacturing guidance.

- Lead & Guide DFMEA, Design Reviews along with Project Team members

- Responsible for Product Architecture development and system consistency & coordination with configuration software.

- Review and validate product Verification and Validation plan

- Review and Validate functional chains in accordance with product /System specification

- Validate the prototype as per requirement

- Conduct technical review meetings

- Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology

- Manage and participate to remote multinational meetings

Qualifications : BE / B Tech in Mechanical/Electrical engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience

Requirements : (Domain)

- Demonstrated proficiency in product design, production Engineering, Quality Value Engineering

- Extensive experience with a variety of Low Voltage Equipment Switchboard Switchgear products, MCC Motor control centre, PCC Power control Centre

- Highly conversant in Product standards IEC 61439 and best practices. Intertek ASTA certification understanding, experience in leading tests at external laboratories ERDA, CPRI and international.

- Manufacturing knowledge for stamping, moulding, machining, casting, & assembly processes and tooling. Good knowledge on materials - ferrous & non-ferrous metals, plastics, elastomers

- Working knowledge of CAD/CAE software like Pro/E and Ansys, Magnet. Good knowledge of analytics and simulation.

- Experience in full product life cycle (scoping, feasibility, execution, production establishment)
