Digital Buildings - Global Engineering Centre (GEC) Technical Project Manager

What is the role?

Individual Contributor role based in Bangalore, India and reporting to the General Manager - Engineering. The role will be expected to drive standardization efficiencies to bring costs down (standard panel design, Bill of material etc,) on data center projects across the globe. An exciting and challenging role for BMS Project Manager to join our team. The role will be focused on collecting specifications from the customer, lessons learned and experience from previous projects to define the detailed standards of design (including submittals packages, bill of materials, panel design drawings, software graphics and libraries- ) as well as the derived standard procedures (testing and commissioning, site activities planning, Methods Of Procedure- ) and to support its implementation in the customer projects by the Company executions centers, globally.

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to :

- Knowledge of complete BMS offering for Data center customers like Amazon

- Knowledge of building management system protocols like BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, OPC and others

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with global customers, branch offices, project Managers, General Contractors etc. understand technical requirements and translate them to deliverables

- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in delivering data center projects like Amazon.

- Ability to plan and implement work utilizing engineering standards and technology principles and established company processes and procedures

- Drive standard project progress reporting and work processes.

- Engineering delivery using standards.

- Review Amazon Web Service Sequences Of Operations, software scripts, an industrialize specific standardized customer solutions such as Max Cooling, Chiller Operations and Management Panels etc-

- Maintain lessons learnt register from previous projects and incorporate customer feedback into standard operating procedures.

- Centralize graphics development at GEC

- Exposure to HVAC domain systems and applications like Air Handling Units, Chiller/Boiler Systems, Variable Air Volume Boxes etc. and ability to engineer a turnkey solution around them

- Working knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering concepts

- Knowledge of the theoretical / practical aspects of building automation regulations and codes relating to air conditioning and management of air, water plants etc. across different geographies

- Ability to ensure quality, defect free deliverables, on time deliveries with customer satisfaction

- Ability to perform offline programming, testing and FAT implementation and documentation to ensure robust, high-quality deliverables

- Collaborate with Design and Graphics teams for effective and timely deliveries

- Work experience in global projects and/or in global engineering centers will be considered as an advantage

- Install base upgrade tracking, follow up globally with the executions center the effective deployment of corrective actions in case of customer quality issue, including replacing parts or deployment of software fix. Ensure quick & efficient ramp-up with customers on AWS project process (procurement, approvals & schedule etc.)

- Drive customer communication & weekly update reports and meetings

- Support local PM to ensure proper coordination with GEC & other vendors
