Position Title ; Manager/ Sr. Manager/ Deputy Chief Manager

Reports To (Role) : Head Electrical Maintaince

Position Summary :

Monitor the Preventive/ Corrective/ Breakdown maintenance of the Web offset presses and its ancillaries, monitor the spare consumption/ cost, optimize the usage by analyzing/ rectifying root causes of frequent failures, facilitate upgrades and new installations with the objective of improving the machine uptime, reducing the cost on spare procurements and meet the challenges of obsolesce and life cycle expiration of the spares.

- Vendors Fortnightly To discuss new spares or any issue related to the supplied spare.

Areas of Responsibility :

a) Preventive Maintenance : 30% of time spent


- Release PM schedules through SAP for Geoman Presses, Mailroom Equipments, CTP equipments and machine ancillaries (e.g. Technotrans etc.), monitor its adherence in order to ensure good condition and availability of machines for Production requirements.

- Performance Metrics : %age adherence to the Preventive maintenance Schedules


b) Breakdown/Corrective Maintenance : 25% of time spent

- Attend/ Analyze/ Rectify the breakdowns in the machines, take corrective actions/ make avoidance plans, coordinate with OEM for machine audits/ frequently occurring critical problems, ensure accurate data is entered in SAP in order to ensure timely delivery of the product without compromising on quality.

- Downtime in minutes/night

c) Manage Spare consumption : 20% of time spent

- Approve the consumption/ issue of spares through SAP notifications, monitor/ optimize the stock of consumable/ non consumable spares and raise SAP notifications for making purchase requisitions in order to ensure timely availability of required spares and avoiding delays.


Performance Metrics :


- Budgeted amount for a particular FY

- Reduction in spare cost

- Timely availability of the spares

d) Machine performance and Engineering MIS : 10% of time spent

- Maintain machine performance reports (downtime, machine history) and ISO documents in order to provide data for audits and aid the decision making for the management.


Perfomance Metrics : No non compliance/ delay in decision making

e) Upgradations / Installations : 5% of time spent

- Coordinate with external agencies/ OEMs to ensure timely execution of upgradations/ installations (e.g. Borri UPS installation, Battery bank replacements, Software/ Hardware upgradations) in order to meet the challenges against obsolesce and life expiry of the equipment.


Performance metrics : Timely completion of execution within approved Financial budget


f) Skill development : 10% of time spent

Identify the training needs, facilitate the same with the help of management and imparting hands on guidance to team members in order to meet the department's skill requirements.

- No. of team members who can carry out multi skilled jobs

Challenges : High cost and lead time of OEM spares (Hardware/ Software)

8. Education and Experience

Educational Qualifications : B. Tech in Electronics.


Required Relevant Experience : 10-13 Years
