Water Project Manager
Position Summary :
- The Water Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing water-related projects, including the laying of GI water pipeline, construction of sump tanks, civil structures of multi-story buildings, and handling multiple project sites. This role requires a strong technical background, experience in managing teams, and effective communication with government offices and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Project Management :
- Plan, execute, and monitor water-related projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee the laying of GI water pipeline, construction of sump tanks up to 200KL, and civil structures of multi-story buildings.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
2. Team Management :
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, supervisors, and laborers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and optimize productivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify development needs, and implement strategies to enhance team performance.
3. Government Correspondence :
- Handle day-to-day correspondence with government offices related to water projects.
- Prepare and submit necessary documents, applications, and permits to obtain required approvals and clearances.
- Represent the organization in meetings with government officials and stakeholders, providing project updates and addressing any concerns.
4. Quality Control and Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and codes in all aspects of the water projects.
- Implement quality control measures to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
5. Stakeholder Management :
- Collaborate and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during project execution.
- Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and presentations to stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (B.Tech/B.E).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in water-related projects, including laying GI water pipelines, sump tanks, and multi-story buildings.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, construction methodologies, and quality control processes.
- Experience in managing teams of engineers, supervisors, and laborers.
- Proficiency in conducting site inspections, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective correspondence with government offices and stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures in the water sector.
- Proficiency in using project management software and MS Office Suite.
