JD-
Operations Planning & Budgeting :
- Lead the operations planning for the brewery based on monthly forecast shared by Corporate. Schedule monthly and weekly production and achieve alignment with targets set for volume, quality, cost etc.
- Engage with the sales team to understand market penetration and product off-take and anticipate sales growth to effectively plan capacity for production
- Estimate the annual Capex requirement for managing part/machine replacements, meeting statutory requirements, new product manufacturing and process efficiency improvements
- Consolidate the budgets prepared by the departments heads; Formulate the overall Brewery budget (Capex and Opex) basis consolidated inputs; Work closely with the Cluster Head to finalize budget for corporate approval
- Ensure resource availability (raw material, packaging, utilities, manpower etc.); Plan for optimal utilization to maximize productivity and minimize costs
Review and Operations Management :
- Review daily operations through key parameters such as production volumes, bottling efficiency, consumables, inventory, expenses, safety incidents etc.
- Lead daily meetings with the function heads to track the actual vs. daily target achievement on key parameters; Interpret and provide course correction inputs on the variance
- Monitor issues causing losses such as inefficiencies, material non-availability, manpower, etc; Engage with the department heads to plan for next steps
- Provide guidance and empowerment to the function heads to manage plant operations smoothly
- Step in to resolve issues and concerns related to manpower, material, capacity constraints, material mix, etc.
- Review engineering KPIs and provide approvals for R&M plan and budgets
- Drive testing of quality of raw material, packaging material, in-process and finished goods by team; Address any deviations and issues
- Lead teams in driving adherence to SLAs agreed upon by various vendors (Across operations); Resolve complex issues, in coordination with Cluster Head/HO; Conduct vendor negotiations (technical and commercial), as required
Governance :
- Ensure all statutory compliances including labelling and packaging requirements, factory and boilers maintenance, pollution and waste management, infrastructure changes, billing ledger and inventory upkeep etc. are met for the brewery
- Build a culture of HSE at the brewery ensuring adherence to corporate guidelines to maintain HSE performance
- Review brewery HSE objectives, Environment Management Plan, important incidents and suggest modifications to corporate guidelines
- Review brewery performance on environment parameters and provide necessary guidance for corrective actions
Projects - Improvement and Expansion - Lead identification of opportunities for improvement across plant operations
- Scope out projects vis--vis the identified opportunities and allocate them to concerned pillar heads; Provide guidance on project planning and execution
- Review progress on a weekly basis by analyzing score-cards to determine cost saved vs. drained by project; Guide implementation of course corrections, as required
- Oversee execution of capex projects monitoring progress vis--vis milestones and ensuring adherence to safety and statutory guidelines
- Engage with the Corporate team to update on project progress, seek technical guidance, ensure timely resolution of issues etc.
Stakeholder Management :
- Develop strong relationships with local officers, police and revenue authorities, plant inspectors and other relevant stakeholders to avoid any issues in day to day operations
- Liaise with senior officials from the state excise department, other statutory bodies and district administration to safeguard UBL's interests in the state
- Conceptualize and develop plans for community development programs to resolve issues pertaining to education, health, environment etc. thereby building successful relationship with the community thereby coopting their express support
Team Management :
- Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent across positions within the team
- Ensure training needs for the plant team are met with adequate programs and sessions
- Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team
- Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge and behavioral skills
