Scope of Responsibility :

- The Drafting Manager is responsible for the quality and on-time delivery of fabrication drawings for the steel pole transmission industry.

- This position is also responsible for improving processes that impact of operational metrics, establishing deadlines, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Drafting Manager will be the; Drafting Dept., Drafting Quality Dept, and the 3D Inventor developers.

Essential Duties :

- Responsible for the daily operations of the drafting; personnel, systems, processes and continuous improvement initiatives (CI).

- Improving the drafting standards, processes and procedures and furthering the development the 3D automation software.

- Establishing metrics and goals to monitor productivity, efficiency, and quality as compared to target goals.

- Conducting root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective and preventative action

- Leading team meetings and documenting clear actions and enable timeline achievement.

- Takes the key role on large key projects: supervise the team and collaborate with other managers to re-engineer the current procedures for manufacturing efficiency.

- Actively seek and supports continuous improvement initiatives to increase Dept. workflow and efficiencies

- Consult with other business leaders on drafting improvement initiatives.

- Stay up to date with Inventor features and design software technologies.

- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the company.

- Ability to manage and develop a team into a high performing Dept. that can meet the demands of the business

- Proactively seek to affect change by implementing methods that prevent recordable errors

- Implementing short- and long-term strategies to ensure excellence

- Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements :

- 10+ years of experience and must have team leadership experience in a manufacturing or related environment

- Strong knowledge of 3D inventor software and automation

- Strong understanding of lean/continuous improvement concepts, principles, and practices.

- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

- Knowledge of principals involved in the production of technical fabrication drawings, and models.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to drive results

- Good communicator both written and spoken

- Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow and financial efficiencies.

- Stay up to date with AutoCAD features and design software technologies.

- Detail-oriented

- Ensure Knowledge and experience with 3D design and applications.

Position Mandates :

1) 3D Inventor (Autodesk Inventor) experience is a must-have

2) Auto CAD is needed
