Vice President - Production & Fulfilment - FMCG (16-20 yrs)
Define the manufacturing strategy for Hamilton including the road map for what manufacturing will be done in-house at the facilities available and what will be outsourced.
- Ensure that capacities and resources are optimally used to achieve a cost advantage and manufacture profitably. Including product mix across facilities
- Provide a strategy on development of facilities including options and feasibility on development of facilities overseas to service exports market
- Define the good manufacturing practices for Hamilton and systematic improvements in the present processes including development of new processes
- Intensively work on the weak areas and bottlenecks of our present processes and recommend improvements including their impeccable execution.
- Define the cost of processing after factoring the fixed and variable costs and recommend efficiency improvements
- ERP implementation and MIS needed for clear decision making
- Purchase optimization such that input cost are minimal and thus possessing a competitive advantage
Production Delivery
- Overseeing the design capabilities and building additional design capabilities that are able to match the requirements for the future.
- Identifying and supporting development of new production capabilities and new business initiatives related to production based on company's business strategy.
- Ensuring production processes meet customer/sales demands and are executed to ensure the quality of deliverable products.
- Plans, develops and establishes the policies and practices related to manpower, machines and materials to all production activities of the Company.
- Ensure appropriate certification standards are maintained for the machinery and plant including safety measures
Supply Chain Management and Logistics
- Development and execution of a sound reliable supply chain strategy that aligns timely fulfillment with cost considerations and as per budget
- Warehousing policy and the dispersion of warehouses, other warehouses, C&F agents and depots in alignment with the markets and customer requirements
- Planning and forecast on cost and resources required to carry out logistics given the business plan
- Road map for the logistics planning process and ensure its alignment with sales forecast and procurement plan within the constraints of timelines, customer's need and organization's resources
- Supervise the process of negotiation of freight and cargo charges with various surface transport, shipping agencies and finalization of the terms
- Lead the effort to continually improve the effectiveness of the supply chain through robust processes and continuous monitoring and audits.
Procurement
- Management and maintenance of the purchase costs
- Developing a vendor strategy and purchase policy aligned with the business needs
- Vendor development and processes to enroll vendors ensuring that the companys dependence and risk on few vendors is mitigated
- Putting in place proper systems for material procurement both domestically and imports
- Procurement strategy for purchase of HDPE, Moulds and other critical items
Negotiating to get the best rates and reaping the advantages of scale of economies
Quality, Systems, Processes and Digitization
- Articulating the Quality policy and setting standards of quality that contribute to a competitive advantage.
- Setting of Processes and SOP to ensure that the delivery and production is lead by these systems with minimal ambiguities and break downs
- Quality processes that minimize defective products, goods returned and customer satisfaction.
- Conducting regular audits and diligence checks to ensure that gaps and irregularities that exist are plugged
