VP - Freight Exchange
A fast-growing Systems, Process and Technology driven logistics company, is seeking a VP for Freight Exchange Business Unit (FEX).
The VP of FEX reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will work in conjunction with executive management and Regional Operations Managers to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies for business growth. VP of FEX business unit would be responsible for creating a Freight Exchange technology platform that would bring together different stake holders of the road freight transport Industry to seamlessly and cost effectively transact based on pre-defined standards as mentioned below:
- Standardisation of transaction processes
- Payment Settlement guarantee
- Pricing Transparency
- Published Pricing
- Terms of Service
- Defined Transaction costs
The FEX business unit would be responsible for P&L of the FEX and would also be responsible for developing sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable process improvements within the FEX to reduce cost of transaction and process efficiency.
Responsibilities
1. The role of the unit is to build a pan India network and bring the transport operators and load providers together to facilitate transaction between them that would result in large throughput of transactions in the exchange.
2. Facilitate and establish long term standardized contracts with load providers for transportation services in specific corridors
3. Deployment of technology, systems and tools with vehicle owners and transport operators for aggregation of trucks
4. Establish and develop collaborative relationship with other infomediaries (brokers, booking agents and channel partners) for offering exchange functions
5. Facilitate price discovery for specific route corridors through reverse auction mechanism and exchange mechanism
Education and Experience Requirements
- Post graduate with experience in organized exchanges, developing technologies and engines for contracts, settlement and delivery, payment and performance for transport services
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles, methodologies, and practices.
- Knowledge of GPS, Fuel Optimization, Fleet management and IoT technologies
- Business process analysis skills
- Project and resource management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
- Written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations
- Skill with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to influence business partners to execute recommended solutions/improvements.
