Position - Indirect Procurement - (Engg Purchase) - Mid Management role
Department & Location : Engineering Purchase
Educational Qualification(Required) : B.E. / B.Tech
Experience(Required) : 10 to 15 years
Role Purpose : To Ensure timely, cost effective and efficient Procurement of Indirect (Capex and Plant Maintenance Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) Material and Services
Job Authority :
- Negotiation with vendors and finalization and release of Purchase Order
- Fund utilization and payment allocation
- Technical Skills & Knowledge - Requirement
- Manufacturing process and cost estimation of Engineering items
- Knowledge of latest trends and best practices in Procurement
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to build, sustain, and influence relationships, at all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of company's strategy, structure and practices
- Strong planning and decision-making skills
- Deep data analysis and forecasting skills
- Strong conceptual knowledge of the Procurement function
Key Result Areas (KRAs) / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Business : Cost Improvement through Negotiations, Value engineering, vendor led innovation and Cross functional cost saving - as % of spent value
Customer Service :
- To improve customer service level for timely delivery of material and PR-PO conversion from last year performance by x%
Process / People : Enhancing skill level of team members - develop a framework to support buyers to analyse trends, feedstock / industry analysis, articulating purchase strategy, monthly presentation in a structured manner, sharing info with team members, Excel training etc. Compliance of Individual Learning Plant (IDP) for self and team
Key Responsibilities :
- Identifying cost improvement areas based on spent analysis of past procurement and current year business plans and ensure implementation of the same
- Aligning with user about service level and ensuring adhereance to the same through out the year
- Formulating procurement stretegy for various category of items with objective of cost improvement and better service level to user
- Achieving purchase Rate reduction by negotiations, developing alternate vendor etc
- Bringing cost improvement through value engineering, by reducing consumption, alternate material, cross functional initiative etc.
- Responsible for vendor management - managing relationships, resolving issues and developing new vendors
- Implementing best procurement practices / Processes
