Function/Unit : Oleochemicals/Production

Educational Qualification : BE (Chemical), B. Tech (Oil Tech)

Experience : 15+ years

Direct Repotees : HOD of all production, Maintenance & Utility functions

Role Purpose :

- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of production lines, maintenance of plant and utilities in order to deliver key business objectives

Key Responsibilities :

Planning and Strategizing :

- Develop production schedules to ensure optimal capacity utilization along with Plant Managers

- Ensure that production constraints are resolved in time to meet targets

- Develop budgets and approve expenditures for plant supplies, materials, machinery, human resources etc

- Plan and allocate maintenance budget

- Ensure team prepares a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment in the plant and agree it with Plant Head

- Ensure monthly indents are raised by team based on preventive maintenance schedules and break downs and forward them to the plant head

- Policy and Process Design, Implementation and Review

- Design and deploy plant specific production processes and policies, ensuring alignment with quality and process standards set globally

- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems

- Make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements and work procedures considering budgetary limitations and time constraints

- Review and update policies and processes for insurance and maintenance for the plant and agree them with the Plant Head

- Ensure adherence to equipment management procedures at project site

- Coordination, Interface, Imparting Training to Internal and External entities

- Liaison with HSE, HR & IR, accounts, commercial to align plans, ensure that requirements are met and information is shared

- Interact with external agencies such as contractors to ensure that production requirements are communicated and met

- Management of performance, capability and morale

- Manage performance of the production and maintenance personnel, support capability building and ensure that individual and individual/ team morale and motivation is positive

- Infrastructure and Technology Investment and Management

- Work with Maintenance (MMC) to oversee maintenance of plant facilities, machines and other infrastructure. Seek/ provide sanctions for setting up new and improved infrastructure/ technology

Technical Skills and Knowledge :

- Strategic Thinking and in-depth knowledge of production management

- Financial & Commercial Acumen

- Thorough understanding of the oleochemical products manufacturing process

- Strong conceptual, planning, conflict management and decision-making skills

- Deep data analysis, planning and forecasting skills
