Job description:
Job Purpose: The Plant World Class Manufacturing (WCM) facilitator is a key driver in the execution of WCM in the factory. The facilitator supports various stakeholders / Pillars to provide proper understanding and use of the WCM tools to align with the execution of the site plan. He should drive continuous improvement agenda and facilitate in implementation of WCM in the plant through engagement of people.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develops the plant towards World Class Manufacturing by implementing a robust, structured system based on Industrial Performance tools capable of seeing, measuring and addressing all types of losses, waste and inefficiencies.
- Developing plant strategy in close coordination with Plant management by linking with company policy and cascade it into pillar activity plan
- Provide training and guidance to the pillar teams. Lead, participate, and coach the team members for the execution WCM.
- Support in analyzing the loss data for accuracy and use the data to identify the top focused improvement areas. Follow-up WCM costs and achievements.
- Facilitate through proper support to Pillars to plan, organize, and implement World Class Manufacturing principles throughout the Site
- Be agile, challenge the status quo, seek out for better ways of operating; candidate must be positive and receptive to change; should be able to stimulate change in traditional mindset.
- Control and coach of WCM activities on shop floor. Contribute to motivate and empower people through positive attitude and stimulate mindset changes
- Ensure the development of WCM skills at all levels - carrying out internal trainings, Conducting audits of WCM teams / pillars
- Promote and support cross fertilization of ideas, knowledge, improvements and Best practices and provide methodological support
- The facilitator will interface with employees in each department and will partner with the front line managers and pillar leaders.
- Coach and support teams to enable them to meet the deadlines of the World Class Manufacturing programme milestones.
Key Performance Indicators:
- WCM Roadmap - Planning and adherence, review to be done Quarterly.
- Training records to be maintained, reviewed monthly.
- Spot audit by Plant Manager and/or SHEAR Engineer, in all model area locations. In non-model area locations,
Basic 2 S must be achieved.
- Demonstrate effectiveness of visual aids in the plant, including visualisation tools, SOPs, SMPs, OPL stations etc.
- Quarterly review and update to be presented.
- To facilitate monthly pillar meetings and ad-hoc project team meetings.
- To facilitate and support in Engineering breakdown meetings, and monthly loss meetings.
- To present to the team on an ad-hoc basis latest updates, and to ensure this knowledge is exhibited at the yearly WCM audits.
- Recognition of WCM not as extra work. Make employees understand that WCM is just the change in approach of doing the work and not the added work
Years of work experience: 07- 10 Yrs
Skills & Competencies:
- BE with 3 to 5 years of working experience in WCM in manufacturing industry.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of TPM methodologies and Lean principles
- Experience in the facilitation of employee training and workshops
- Independent, very communicative, and problem-solving-oriented work style
- Strong team player attitude with the ability to inspire others
- Ability to gather and analyse data from loss trees and other factory information and report usable information to others
- Ability to read, write, analyse and interpret technical procedures and standards
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement Process
Proficient in computer skills required for WCM.
Education (Preferred Degree):
- BE with specialization in Mechanical / Chemical /Production Planning. with exposure to TPM/TQM or equivalent exposure to WCM
High qualification in a technical degree as the job includes specialist/technical skills
