Job Summary:
The Wiper Systems Engineering Manager will oversee the design, development, and production of automotive wiper systems from RFQ to final product delivery. This role requires technical expertise in wiper systems, a deep understanding of automotive standards, and strong leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The manager will be responsible for coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring product quality, and meeting project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:- Lead and manage wiper system projects from RFQ through design, testing, and production, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and timeline requirements.
- Technical Leadership:- Provide technical direction on wiper system design, including motor selection, linkage design, blade efficiency, and integration with vehicle electronics.
- Team Development:- Mentor and develop a team of engineers, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Product Development:- Oversee product development activities, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers, to ensure smooth project execution and issue resolution.
- Quality & Compliance:- Ensure all wiper systems meet quality standards and automotive regulatory requirements, including conducting design reviews and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:- Drive innovation in wiper system technology, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance durability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with at least 3 years in wiper system design and development.
- Proven track record in managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time.
- Expertise in automotive standards and regulations, including experience with GD&T, APQP, and DFMEA.
- Strong understanding of wiper system components, including motors, linkages, blades, and control systems.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and interacting with customers.
